Entrada Art Boutique Concert: TRILOG en Alicante/Alacant
In a rare intimate setting, Chameleon Concerts present TRILOG, a unique fusion of flamenco, Hindustani music and jazz. Bringing together internationally acclaimed and award-winning musicians from Spain, Canada and India, the trio creates a captivating dialogue between flamenco guitar, flute, bansuri, tabla and vocals, combining virtuosity, tradition and improvisation.
Set in the serene garden patio of Art Boutique Hotel Chamarel in Dénia's historic centre, the concert takes place beneath the open sky, surrounded by blooming greenery and the charm of a beautifully restored historic building. Very limited seating.
TRILOG is an international collaboration exploring the connections between flamenco and Indian music through a unique combination of bansuri, flamenco guitar and tabla. The trio has performed at major international festivals including JAZZMADRID, Oslo Mela Festival and Festival des Andalousies Atlantiques in Morocco.
Melón Jiménez (Spain) – flamenco guitar and vocals – is one of the leading voices of contemporary flamenco guitar. Raised between the traditions of Gitano flamenco and classical music, he has performed with renowned artists across genres, including Anoushka Shankar and Richard Bona, and regularly performs alongside legendary flamenco-jazz musician Jorge Pardo.
Lara Wong (Canada) – flute and bansuri – is internationally recognised for pioneering the integration of the Indian bansuri into flamenco. She became the first foreign artist in history to receive the prestigious Filón Award for Best Flamenco Instrumentalist at the Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas, one of the highest honours in flamenco. Her album *Confluencias* with Melón Jiménez was nominated for a JUNO Award in Canada.
Chaitanya Natu (India) – tabla and percussion – is a virtuoso musician trained from the age of six and holding advanced degrees in both Indian classical and contemporary performance, including studies at Berklee College of Music.
Hosted by Jai & Anja (Australia) – vocals, guitar and bass – the evening will also feature special collaborations and musical encounters between the artists.
